The Class of
1986 plans to celebrate their 20th year class
reunion in Washington, D.C. during
the weekend of July 7th - 9th, 2006.
A dream come true for the members of the Class of 1986. And
with an open invitation to ALL ... friends of the Class of 1986
too!!!
With the help of many of you, we've been able to get in touch
with many former classmates. We've had 15 people from the class of
1986 commit to coming and 6 people from the class of 1987! We have
friends coming from Madrid, Holland, Guatemala, the West Cost, Pennsylvania,
Northern Va., Chicago, etc. If you know of others who may want to
come please encourage them to do so.
The Marriott at Metro Center is
booked for anyone requiring a hotel room and we plan to use that
location as a place to gather. Our group has a complimentary Hospitality
Suite available for our use both Friday
and Saturday. If you'd like to make
reservations you may do so at the following link for a rate of
$179 per night plus applicable tax. Please, ensure to put the code
ASMASMA if registering on-line.

Dinner is confirmed for Saturday night at an authentic Spanish
Restaurant in Washington called Taberna del
Alabardero. You can look as the restaurant and a sample
menu on-line at: http://www.alabardero.com/.
The price per person is about $57 per person excluding tax,
gratuity and drinks.
If you could take a few moments to fill out the on-line Registration
Form/Questionnaire and review the tentative event agenda or
open the hyper-linked Word document (right-click
and select Save As to Save to your hard drive the registration Word document), fill-out and return
either via-email or fax that would be great. In an effort to make
plans for dinner Friday and Saturday night and breakfast each
morning it's helpful to know how many people plant to come.
Regardless of whether you plan to attend or not we are trying
to compile a book/class update to distribute to all so everyone
can catch up with each other at least in someway. So, if you don't
mind we would appreciate everyone completing it and sending it
back (preferably with a photo) in time to make the book for
distribution at the reunion. If you return the questionnaire by
e-mail please do the following: after filling out please save to
your computer and then return as an 'attachment'. If it's not
saved first the reply will arrive back as a blank form.
Also, included is a tentative agenda
(right-click and
select Save As to save to your hard drive the tentative agenda Word document) of activities ranging from a
tour of the White House for those
interested to a tour of the National Air and
Space Museum by Wendy Nyhus Brett's father on Sunday
morning. All these tours and activities are of no charge. If you'd
like to attend a specific event, i.e. the White House tour,
just include that in the return email so we can be certain of the
exact number for tickets necessary. Children are allowed on the
White House tour but strollers, cameras, bags, etc. are not...
These are simply ideas at the moment for activities so if you have
suggestions or would like to do something special as a group jut
forward your ideas.
It will truly be exciting to see old friends from Madrid and
make new friendships. I have the best memories of the years spent
in Spain and can't wait to share those with others.
Thanks so much to everyone who has been in touch and so helpful
in pulling all the details together. Any question, please just
call or send an email.
Saludos y un fuerte abrazo
